WAN Summit 2016

Like many multinational corporations, airline services giant Gate Gourmet relied on an all-MPLS WAN with a primary global provider, along with a few smaller regional providers to connect its 140 global offices and operations at major airports around the world. Many sites were limited to a single 512 Kbps connection; sometimes for hundreds of employees. A few years ago, the company decided to look into alternative network solutions that might help to deliver greater bandwidth and to control costs

Garth Gray, VP of Infrastructure Services, will present his experiences of leading the company through its transition to a new network architecture that delivers as much as ten times the bandwidth as their legacy network, without increasing costs. His presentation will highlight:

  • How they sold the change internally, and worked with their service provider to roll out the new WAN one region at a time
  • The configuration of the new network design
  • The performance and cost savings delivered by the new network
  • What tools Gate Gourmet uses to gain visibility into network paths and how the company is working towards total system QoS
  • How Gate Gourmet increased security across the global network

The video and the presentation is provided by the offical WAN Summit website.
