Senior Systems Engineer

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be assigned with highly challenging technical topics and you will have strong influence on the company's technology progress. You will drive the development and operation of highly scalable and globally deployed network security solutions. Specifically, you will work on product integration and customization as well as development of tools and management infrastructure.

This position will afford you with responsibility of leading projects, right from the concept phase and all the way to production deployment and operations.

You have an ETH, university or FH degree in Computer Science or a related field, several years of work experience in IT and are fluent in English and German.

We expect you to bring the following skills to the table:

• Intimate knowledge of the Unix and Linux operation systems, in other words you have internalized the "Unix way" of doing things
• Deep understanding networking in general and the major Internet protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, SMTP, SSH, DNS, BGP, OSPF)
• Good knowledge of network security concepts and practices, experience with relevant tools and technologies (packet filters, VPN, proxies, authentication services etc.)
• Advanced Shell and Perl scripting
• Basic know-how of web application development (HTML, CSS, CGI, Javascript). Experience with advanced topics (Java-based frameworks, OO development) a plus
• Experience with SQL databases and development. Oracle administration and PL/SQL knowledge a plus
• Comfortable to work in small teams and individually
• Experience in project management
• Good communication skills
